Move To Cure
September is world-wide STXBP1 Awareness Month, with the gene located on the ninth chromosome, and September being the ninth month of the year. Originating in the USA, the “Move to Cure” walk has brought together supporters across multiple countries, all walking in various locations around the world to raise funds for a cure for this rare gene mutation.
Brisbane Marathon 2024
In June 2024, four amazing STXBP1 mums ran the Brisbane Marathon to raise crucial funds for the STXBP1 Australia Foundation.
a million steps for stxbp1
In September 2021, the Barnes family decided to take a million steps, inspired by their little girl to raise awareness and some much needed research funding for STXBP1.
City to Bay 2024
This September, the Duregon supported their STXBP1 affected child Johnny to walk the 12km city to bay to raise awareness and funding for treatment pathways, and ultimately a cure.
long lunch Fundraiser
Friends, family and the wider community enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal and learnt about STXBP1 to raise much needed funds towards research for this rare condition. Exciting silent auctions were up for grabs, along with lucky door prizes and raffles
Annnual fundraising GALA
An evening of silent auctions, lucky door prizes and raffles all in the name of STXBP1 research. The event raised over $30,000 which allowed the foundation to fund our first research study here in Australia.
